Overview

Mildly challenging loop with optional extreme challenge.

When most people talk about Wipeout Hill, they refer to the obstacle, not the trail. The trail driven as a loop without the obstacle is actually quite tame and surprisingly scenic as it passes along the base of Lone Mesa heading toward Monitor and Merrimac Buttes. The Easter Jeep Safari version of this trail goes up Wipeout Hill and continues north on the last part of Sevenmile Rim, Trail #15. The Safari version is, by far, the most challenging.

Trail Ratings Defined

Much of the trail is easy, but there are a few sections of rough, steep slickrock. The average 4-wheel-drive SUV with decent ground clearance should do just fine.
