Available online 24 hours in advance. Limit of 50 per day. Additional permit required to camp overnight (not free). Permits for White Crack and Murphy Hogback Campgrounds go first. Read page 162 for tips on booking. Carry lots of water. No gas or services. A very popular bike route. Fee to enter park. No fires or pets (even if left in vehicle). No ATVs or UTVs (licensed or not). Licensed dirt bikes are allowed.

It is correct that you should do the trail in 2 days if possible in the fall or spring. A one-day trip should begin as early as possible.
A stock Jeep is fine, but a stock 4 x4 suv needs high clearance.
