Overview

Trail ends at waters edge.

This is the quickest and simplest way to get to the first beach cove along the north shore of Saguaro Lake. Unlike the beach at Butcher Jones Recreation Area, this cove is free. You can picnic for a day or camp overnight. Just make sure you pack out all trash and leave the beach better than you find it. Staging is available after you pass through the massive gate at the start. See Trail #53 for more coves on the east end of the lake.

Trail Ratings Defined

With the exception of two steep hills getting over a ridge, most of this trail is just easy soft sand. To get down and up the obstacle at Wpt. 05, you must have 4WD, high clearance, excellent articulation or lockers. We did it in our stock 4-dr. Rubicon.
