Trail climbs to within 1200 feet of the top of Parkview Mountain. The drive passes through pockets of pine, spruce and fir until it ends at hiking trail. For view of Grand Lake, continue on foot up Parkview Mountain. Dispersed camping is limited along trail, but Highway 125 offers large spots suitable for big RVs. Side roads are fun for unlicensed vehicles. Open June 15 through November 15.

We went to do Mulstay Creek today and that trail is closed. I think the fire caused alot of tree damage but as of 9 Sep 2025, the trail is blocked by a barrier and the visible part of the trail is covered with downed trees.

At Mile 3.3 there is a downed tree across the road that we were unable to go around and had to back down the road about .2 mile to turn around.
