Overview

Start your overland trip with the rarest scenery we’ve seen.

This is an excellent route for overlanders or anyone just looking for something different. The scenery is some of the rarest we have seen, with unique colorful layers of exposed sediment. If you have time, visit Goblin Valley State Park (fee area). After passing two popular hiking areas, the main route will take you far from civilization, so be prepared for a long day. To extend the trip, you have the option to continue southwest from Wpt. 07 to Hwy. 24 toward Capitol Reef NP.

Trail Ratings Defined

Mostly easy hardpacked dirt roads. Washes have soft sand. Two rocky sections require a high-clearance vehicle. One large creek crossing was shallow for us but may be impassible depending on water levels.
