Overview

An easy out-and-back route with a chance to see wild horses.

An easy out-and-back route that meanders through the Little Book Cliffs Wild Horse Area. The southern portion of trail passes a scenic overlook and ends at unique Monument Rocks with room to park and relax. A few places to camp along the route. For a better chance to see horses, turn left at Wpt. 04 and go to Round Mountain. You can also connect to Dry Fork, Trail #86, to see Hunter Canyon Overlook and more hoodoo rock formations. Trail is open all year, weather permitting.

Trail Ratings Defined

Easy. Mostly smooth dirt road with bumpy sections. Several mildly steep hills with embedded rock. Routefinding can be confusing with so many gas well access roads. Difficult trail continues after Wpt. 05. We stopped here.
