This trail turned out to be kind of a disappointment. It’s 11 miles of wide graded gravel road coursing through endless wind turbines and high tension lines. There are some spectacular views though. After 11 miles, we came to a dirt road so deeply rutted that we turned around.

Steven Forrest [email protected] Kind of a disappointment, all in all. It's a wide, well-graded gravel road through miles of wind turbines, with a few spectacular views of the Carrizo Gorge. After 11 miles, it comes to a totally eroded dirt road which looked so uninviting that I turned around even though I drive a Rubicon. The Scatatone overlook was similarly unapproachable -- we made it about a mile over totally rutted, nasty, Prius-killer ground, then turned around. I can't help but think that the situation on this trail has changed radically since Funtreks last reviewed it.

No fun - just a wide gravel road through endless wind turbines. A couple of terrific views. After 11 miles, you hit a dirt road so rutted and eroded that I didn't want to tackle it in my Rubicon.
