Road follows scenic bench above the Colorado River and below Dead Horse Point S.P. The Shafer Switchbacks are unforgettable. Pay park fee at self-pay station or at visitor center. ATVs and UTVs, even if licensed, are prohibited. Licensed motorbikes are okay. Pets are not allowed on backcountry roads or in campgrounds, but may be transported inside vehicle going on Potash Road and up the switchbacks. Leashed pets can be walked along paved roads. Note: Wait times at main entrance can be 1 to 2 hours at peak times.
