It’s a long drive to Jumpup Point, but the view is worth the extra time. Unlike most of the forested areas around Jacob Lake, the terrain along this trail is more desert-like, with piñyon pine, juniper and sagebrush. The area is extremely remote; you may not see another person all day. Take plenty of water and food. Don’t go alone. This is a great trip for an ATV or side-byside. If you want to see outstanding pictographs in Snake Gulch Canyon, it’s a 2-mile hike from end of F.S. 642.
