Overview

Lightly-traveled side trail departs from Chicken Corners trail.

The trail heads north below and west of Hurrah Pass and loops through a canyon around Jackson Butte. We found no public motorized access to the nearby Colorado River. The stark landscape is remote and lightly traveled. Great ATV/UTV trail. Gonzo mountain bikers typically travel north along the route and carry their bikes up a steep escarpment called Jackson’s Ladder.

Trail Ratings Defined

Most of the route is easy; however, there are enough small ledges and rough spots to give it a moderate rating. Suitable for stock vehicles designed for off-road use. We did it in our stock 2-dr. Wrangler Sport. Loop is tougher for long wheel-based vehicles.
