Overview

Long hard-core trail best done during Easter Jeep Safari.

Scenic views from top of Rubble Hill and along edge of 800-feet-deep Hatch Wash. Obstacles are unusual and really fun. Trail is very popular during the Easter Jeep Safari, but lightly traveled the rest of the year. Metal signs marked “FI” now mark the trail and make it easier to follow, but it can still be quite confusing at times. For this book we redrove the route in our 2-door Rubicon Wrangler and our Polaris RZR. Our RZR scout had a great time exploring all the interior roads and bypasses. With his GPS tracklogs, we were able to show more of these roads on our map. ATVs can return to the start via the pipeline road (see map).

Trail Ratings Defined

Obstacles are difficult but not extreme and many have bypasses. You’ll need high clearance, at least one locker and skid plates. We’re not recommending stock SUVs for this trail, but a skilled driver might make it.
