Overview

Scenic ridge in popular mountain area.

Trail begins with a climb to a high scenic ridge above beautiful Deer Lake. The route then descends into rugged Gold Valley and heads north past mines and lakes. To shorten the trip, head north from Waypoint 02 to a scenic campground at Gold Lake, then exit at Gold Lake Highway. There are plenty of trails to explore for unlicensed vehicles, but they must stop at Waypoint 06. Heavy traffic is possible on the trail’s southern half; use proper trail etiquette while passing and be patient.
