Overview

A rare north and south trail on the east side of Highway 191.

Make your way north on a winding trail over sand and slickrock. This Safari route is new to the book but uses well-established trails that take you over some challenging, scenic terrain. You won’t go into Arches National Park, but you will drive along the boundary. The area is popular for UTVs, ATVs, and single track. Busy on weekends so plan accordingly if camping along Dalton Wells Road and Willow Springs Road.

Trail Ratings Defined

Hardest spot is a rocky downhill section at the beginning that requires high ground clearance, good tire placement, and a spotter. The rest of the trail consists of slickrock, soft sand, and a few short steep climbs. Route-finding is challenging at times; follow CR signs and white dashes.

Based on the new BLM management plan, there will be a new entrance to this trail. However, we cannot identify what that will be at this point. For now, it would be best to enter the trial starting at Waypoint 02 via Willow Springs Road.
