Overview

Departs from Needles Visitor Center in Canyonlands National Park.

A great trail if you are a newcomer to 4-wheeling. You get to experience driving rocky terrain, but with all the harder spots improved just a bit by the park service. The trail is extremely convenient, located immediately behind the Needles Visitor Center in Canyonlands National Park. The end of the route features a high, dramatic overlook of the Colorado River. You can take a short hike to Lower Jump and see a high waterfall if water is flowing in Salt Creek. ATVs and UTVs, whether licensed or not, are not allowed in park.

Mostly easy, but with a few rocky ledges here and there to add some challenge. The hardest spots have been improved with rock stacking and small patches of permanent blacktop. Trail is suitable for stock, high-clearance, 4x4 SUVs.
