Overview

Unusual OHV area climes to rim of volcanic crater.

Cross-country travel is allowed within the boundary of the OHV area; however, it’s best to stay on existing trails as much as possible. Over 13,500 acres of volcanic cinder trails are available. Although the MVUM shows roads 776 and 777 are open to unlicensed vehicles, a sign says “All vehicles & drivers on FR 776 and 777 must be street legal.” This is for the safety of child riders and we suggest you follow the sign. The MVUM will likely be changed in coming years. It is expected that repairs will soon be made to 776 at the main entrance from Highway 89.
