Overview

Challenging offroad route across Castle Dome Mountains.

You can easily spend a day or two here and not see everything. We suggest an overnight stay at one of the many large camp spots on McPherson Pass. A bypass has been built to avoid private property and takes you around the Castle Dome Mines Museum. We still encourage you to visit the museum and learn about the area’s extensive mining history. This is a great place to explore in a side-by-side.

Trail Ratings Defined

Much of the route is hard-packed single-lane with a few rocky washed-out spots. McPherson Pass can be rocky and requires good articulation and high ground clearance. Suitable for aggressive stock SUVs.
