Backway to Secret Spire

Labeled a First Timer’s trail from the Easter Jeep Safari.

We drove this route during the Easter Jeep Safari as part of the First Timer’s Package. The route was more challenging than expected but great fun. After Waypoint 04, the trail ascends a steep sandstone ridge, then drops down several large ledges as it winds its way toward distinctive Tombstone Butte. Extend the journey with an optional side trip to Dellenbaugh Tunnel, trail #6. Relax at the end with a short walk to the iconic Secret Spire.

We drove this trail in our stock 2-door Wrangler and had to be careful not to catch our rear bumper descending several ledges. One steep slickrock climb may intimidate novice drivers. An experienced driver can get through with a stock, high-clearance, 4x4 SUV, but caution is advised.
