Richmond Hill trail was closed approximately 2 miles from the end connecting to Ashcroft (we had started in Aspen). Appears to be from avalanche damage. It seemed sketchy earlier, but then we came upon a total collapse of the trail from trees; the road was completely covered in trees and seemed like what you could see of the road underneath it had been severely damaged.

The trail is now closed to unlicensed vehicles. Signs are posted at Taylor Pass and at the gondola entrance.

We completed this trail in its entirely in about 3.5 hours today including a lunch break. The moderate rating is appropriate. The portion of the trail near Ashcroft that was previously closed because of avalanche debris has been cleared and is open.
