Drive through scenic canyon to access exit point of 21 Road, Trail #85.

First half of trail winds through a scenic canyon. Road to left at Waypoint 02 ends at alternate exit point for 21 Road, Trail #85. You might catch a glimpse of vehicles finishing this punishing trail. Hot in the summer; take plenty of water. Open all year, weather permitting.

Easy. Most of route is smooth and well traveled. When dry, trail is suitable for stock, high-clearance 4WD vehicles. When wet, trail may be impassable. There is a short, very steep hill before overlook at Wpt. 03. To add difficulty, take optional side trip on road 213. It’s narrow, tippy and rocky.

Beautiful sunny day and a great trail. The description says it is steep going up but less intimidating than I expected as a novice. Lots of trails on the plateau to explore. Road conditions are very easy if near perfect.
