This is a great way to visit Grand Canyon National Park without the expense of high-priced hotels. Few people realize that just south of the park is seldom-visited Kaibab National Forest. We’ve selected a loop that takes you past a fire tower and on to historic Hull Cabin. The entire route has free dispersed camping with plenty of room for large campers and motor homes. Once in the forest, unload and ride your unlicensed OHV. To camp in the forest without entering the park, drive route in reverse starting in Tusayan.

Drove out to and stayed at the Hull Cabin in May 2019. The trail out is a nice, easy drive going in from Grandview off of Desert View Road in the park. They have installed a new cell tower near the AZ trail and fire lookout tower, so cell coverage was available. We also took an afternoon to drive out FR307 east with no issues. This section was rutted with not a lot of scenery.
