Overview

Difficult steep section is near the end.

The first part of the trail is scenic but uneventful. Conditions get more interesting when you reach Horseshoe Canyon, especially one steep hill. We stopped when the trail grew faint and thought this was a good place to camp. This trail doesn’t see much traffic and makes for a quiet getaway.

21 stock rubicon. Did this trail in Aug 2025. Fun easy trail, amazing views, only needed 4 wheel drive for one small section. Take your time and enjoy the views along the way – amazing. Had breakfast at the amazing Clinkscale in Jerome before the drive. Only ones on the trail which was perfect.

Completed 11/1/2025. Spent the day with the lady in Jerome and then hit this trail after touring the mine. Trail is in good shape. Ran a stock F150 with 33" BFG AT's and it did fine. Probably didint even need 4x4, but kept it in high. Only couple spots where mediocre clearance was needed. Otherwise an uneventful ride. Didnt see anyone until heading out. You WILL get some pretty heavy pinstripes. Did not go up the hill at the very end, instead turned around at the final pin. Tons of camping spots along the way.
