Overview

Fun canyon drive inside KOFA National Wildlife Refuge.

Palm Canyon is one of only two places in Arizona where palms still grow naturally. About a hundred trees remain. The hike to the palms is short but strenuous. Take along some water. Kofa Queen Canyon is very scenic as you drive around a series of tall buttes, ending at a rock formation resembling a skull. Camping is allowed on the refuge. ATVs and UTVs must be street licensed and insured for highway travel. The speed limit is 25 mph. There are many other roads to explore inside the refuge. See maps at entrance.
