Overview

Attempt extreme obstacles like “Rocker Knocker”and “Axle Hill.”

Recognized by BFGoodrich in 2008 as an “Outstanding Trail.” We would add, “assuming you have the right vehicle and skills to drive it.” Most will run the trail in one direction which includes driving the long bumpy route south back to Moab. East side of canyon is a wilderness study area. Stay out or risk closure of this great trail. A large designated staging area is located near the start of the trail on Kane Creek Road. There is a sign-in box and fee to cross private land at the start of the trail.

Trail Ratings Defined

Extremely difficult. For big, customized, hard-core rigs only. Huge, off-camber ledges lie in wait for drivers too proud to winch (winch points on “Chewy Hill,” “Rocker Knocker, “Axle Hill” and “Yellow Hill”). We rode with Moab Friends for Wheelin’ a local club that helps maintain and protect the trail. Stay on the trail; do not create new bypasses. ATV and dirt bike riders may want to check their sanity at the gate.
